BACCARAT

Baccarat was founded in 1764 when, with the permission of King Louis XV of France, the bishop of Metz, founded a glassworks in the village of Baccarat in eastern France in Lorraine.
In 1816 he took away the first collection composed of the first four Baccarat crystal, glass windows and mirrors. Since 1823, when he created the first set of glasses for King Louis XVIII of France, Baccarat has created items for King Charles X, Napoleon III and the Presidents of the Republic to date.
Harcourt was born in 1841 and still a symbol of the brand still in production. In 1855 the First Exposition Universelle de Paris Baccarat receives the gold medal.
In 1885 with the development of the Indian market and the gradual increase in demand for furniture and crystal chandeliers Baccarat is approaching and finally he fits into the world of international design. In 1907 starts the production of glass bottles for perfumes engaging with important names such as Coty, Houbigant, Patou, Schiaparelli, Elizabeth Arden, Guerlain, Dior, Montana, Versace and Lancôme.
In 1948 kicks off the American branch with the opening of a department store and a store in New York and, in 1984, that of Tokyo.
In 1993 he launched its first jewelry collection in 1995 and the collection of glasses undergoing a revolution with the emergence of fine collection Vega: elegant stemware with the stem created by the combination of elements like buttons.
In 2000, Baccarat creates a new collection with simple lines and sensual full of details that allow light to play with the sophistication and the thickness of the crystal.
From 2005 to 2007 Philippe Starck collection revisits with impertinence and tradition of Baccarat playing on the paradox and contrast of light between the crystal clear and dark onyx, daylight and darkness. With "Darkside", where Philippe Starck invites us to explore the darker side of nature of the crystal from which springs the light in all its splendor, the company has created its latest collection.
Baccarat has collaborated, as well as Philippe Stark, with numerous Italian and international designers of the universe including: Roberto Sambonet, Van Day Truex, Salvador Dali, César, Robert Rigot, Thomas Bastide, Andrée Putman, Patrice Butler, Thierry Lecouls, Yves Savinel ROZE and Gilles, Jean-Marie Massaud Jean Boggio, Mathias, Barbara Barry.
