VENINI

The Venini glassworks was born early in 1921 when 900 precisely with the help of Giacomo Cappellin (antiquarian in Venice), Paolo Venini (Milan lawyer born in 1895) and Vittorio Zecchin (Painter) comes the "Cappellin Venini & C."
 
The first creations were quickly appreciated and exhibited at the Venice Biennale and exhibitions of decorative art in Italy and in France.
 
In 1925 the company became seeing the inclusion of Napoleone Martinuzzi changing its name to "VSM Venini & C."
 
Since the early 30's until the late 50's glassware will see the successful production of innovative objects and cutting edge about the many collaborations with artists of 900 as initially the same Paolo Venini and Vittorio Zecchin and subsequently Napoleone Martinuzzi, Tomaso Buzzi Carlo Scarpa, Gio Ponti, Toni Sugars, Fulvio Bianconi and Tobia Scarpa.
 
At the end of 50 (in 1959) Paolo Venini died bequeathing the artistic direction of the company to his son, the architect Ludovico Diaz de Santiliana who was able to maintain a high level of performance and creativity contributing with his work many years to bring back Venini at the Venice Biennale in the early '90s.
